called Drej hears of the technology humans possess and see them as a threat, and without warning destroy Earth. Only a small fraction of humans left on Earth escape, left to be scattered amongst the stars, shunted by other fearful alien races and left to wither without a place to call home. Just before the Earth is destroyed,
Sam Tucker leaves his 5-year-old son, Cale Tucker, with a ring, and the two are seperated as Sam leaves to hide the Titan. 15 years later, Cale Tucker is working on the salvage station, the Tau-14, when he is tracked down by Sam's old partner Joseph Korso, who reveals the ring to be a genetically encrypted map to the hidden location of the Titan. Cale is
now the only hope for humanity in a race against the Drej to find the legendary ship.
